Have A Questions?

Yes. Under the Divorce Act (Canada), you may apply for a divorce in Ontario even if your marriage was solemnized in another country, provided at least one of the spouses have ordinarily resided in Ontario for a minimum of 12 months immediately prior to commencing the divorce proceeding and marriage was legally valid in the country where it was performed.
In Ontario, the division of property for married couples is based on the equalization of net family property, which means spouses share the increase in value of their property acquired during the marriage — but this doesn’t always result in an exact 50/50 split of all assets. You can contact us to know more about it.
If your application was refused, we can help review the reasons and assess options for a reapplication, appeal, or judicial review in Federal Court, where appropriate. Time limits apply, so it’s important to act quickly.
Under Section 72 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, you must file your application for leave and judicial review within 15 days if the matter arises within Canada, or 60 days if it arises outside Canada, after the day you are notified of or become aware of the decision to be reviewed.
We review and explain your contract, conduct title searches, ensure taxes and liens are addressed, prepare legal documents, communicate with your lender (if financing), and complete the final closing. We also ensure proper registration of the property in your name.
